Julio Jones not present for start of Falcons’ OTAs

Julio Jones is not at the Atlanta Falcons’ facility Monday for the start for the team’s organized team activities, a source told ESPN’s Dianna Russini.

Julio and the organization are doing very well, Dimitroff told ESPN. I’m not concerned one bit about any of the social media. I think we’re in a great spot. He had very good discussions with [coach] Dan [Quinn]. And we’re in a great spot.

The deleted Instagram photos caused a stir, but the team insisted it was related to Jones wanting a “fresh start on social media while also proving a point to players at his former school, Alabama, about being willing to let go of social media.

In 2012, D’Anton Lynn signed with the Jets, who had his father, Anthony Lynn, as running backs coach. But D’Anton Lynn played defense.

Kacy II, who plays cornerback and safety, played for Saskatchewan the past two seasons. He calls his dad “tough” but “fair” as a coach.

Kacy II also knows his dad won’t play favorites when it comes to cutting the roster.

Before Sunday’s game, Boone was asked if he thought Frazier needed regular at-bats at this stage of his career so that he could continue developing or if keeping him around to help out in a lesser role could be beneficial.

“We’ll always strike that balance depending on our roster,” Boone said. “I think he is a guy that needs to be playing every day, but if there’s enough of a regular at-bat presence here for him, then that’s something that we’ll always consider considering where we are as a club right now and the value we know that he can bring.”
